Tell us a little bit about your role as an instructor?
I joined the team at Sunrise Services as an instructor for their 40-hour Basic and NAC Bridge Program. I was also fortunate enough to fill in for the Dementia and Mental Health Programs. It was a challenging and very rewarding experience working with students in a dynamic training environment.
What do you love about working at Sunrise Services?
My co-workers and the leadership at Sunrise Service were simply the best! The support I received from Sharon Bowers was instrumental in setting the stage for success in this position. On a regular basis, the students also provided for such an incredibly rewarding experience. I’ve had the pleasure of working in the field of care giving for nearly 40 years. A career that has brought me so much joy. I will say that being an instructor at Sunrise Services was the best job I’ve ever had!
What are you most proud of?
As an instructor, it was amazing getting to see the students thrive and learn in such an inspiring environment. The effort and care that they brought to the classroom was great to be a part of. Being a part of their learning was a special experience.
What’s next for you?
First and foremost, I’m planning on spending more time with my grandchildren. When they’re not keeping me busy, I’ll be spending my spare time quilting, traveling, dabbling in genealogy and reading. I’ll even sprinkle in some relaxation here and there!
We at Sunrise Services would like to thank Dorothy for her excellent work inspiring our students and wish her nothing but the best in retirement. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about our Caregiver Training Program, click here.
