Getting a dual diagnosis can be both scary and a relief. While you might not be thrilled to know you have multiple mental or behavioral health challenges, you may also feel relieved to be able to finally put a name to what you’re experiencing and to know there are steps you can take to improve your life.
At Sunrise, we understand what you’re going through and want to make compassionate dementia care as easy as possible. Below, we’ve gathered a list of community care resources to help adults living with dementia and their families throughout Western Washington.
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, only 43.3% of U.S. adults with mental illness receive treatment. While a large part of the problem is that many of us are reluctant to admit when we need help ― the average delay between onset of mental illness symptoms and treatment is 11 years ― some Americans fear that they will be unable to afford the services they need.
