Who We Are

Our History

Sunrise Services, Inc. has been in business for over 45 years. We are a stable, trustworthy company and we take pride in the services we offer, the people we care for, our community partners, and our employees.

We offer genuine compassion, care, recovery and hope. We truly believe that everyone deserves to live a full life.

Our mission is to provide for the unmet needs of people in our communities and honor our employees who serve them.

We partner with individuals

Sunrise employees are real people who partner with individuals and families to define goals and identify challenges they face, develop a successful small-step approach to problem solving, and identify community resources and service options. Our partnerships and active collaboration with other community supports strengthen our individual network of resources for enhancing self-determination.

We focus on individuals

We offer a variety of quality services that are focused on real individuals. These services share a common goal – to improve or uphold our individual quality of life. We employ a holistic, responsive and innovative approach to providing community and in-home supports. We want our individual to progress toward wellness and maintain successful independent living.

Value Proclamation

Sunrise Services advocates and intervenes for those who cannot, enabling better management of complex life situations. We do this through our highly skilled employees and our EveryOne Philosophy.

We believe EveryOne deserves a chance to live a fulfilling life, and another chance when it all goes sideways.

Our Story

For over 45 years, Sunrise Services has been working tirelessly to provide services for individuals in need. Those we feel are underserved in our communities continues to drive us to this day. We owe our vision and our passion to the leadership energy of our founders, Gene and Sue Closser. In the mid-1970s Sue and Gene worked at an institution in Colorado. They believed there was a better way to provide care, and sought to open a care facility for people with disabilities in order to provide them with the lives they deserved. They moved to Washington state, and on their wedding anniversary in 1977, Sue and Gene took over three group homes. And thus began a long, storied career of working to care for people with disabilities, seniors in need of care, and individuals living with mental health challenges.
