We’re Expanding! Sunrise Is Hiring For Supported Living in Skagit County

We are thrilled to announce that Sunrise Services is expanding our Supported Living (SL) Program services into Skagit County! People who are interested in Supported Living in this area can now request services from Sunrise through their DDA case manager. As part of this expansion, we are hiring for several positions in the area:

Direct Support Professionals

As a Direct Support Professional, you will work closely with adults who have developmental disabilities. Your goal is to help your clients live their best possible lives while fostering positive self-esteem, a sense of self-worth, and opportunities to choose valued social roles.

Depending on the client, you may help with personal care tasks, housekeeping, shopping, meal preparation, transportation, recreation, social activities, and more. Your work will promote your clients’ ability to live as they choose and engage with the community.

We are looking for candidates who have the following:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean one-year driving abstract and proof of insurance ($50,000).
  • The ability to pass a DSHS background check and get fingerprinting done.
  • The ability to use a smartphone for clocking in and out.
  • The ability to use a tablet for logging medication and client behaviors.
  • Willingness to attend training classes, including mandatory caregiver training and nurse delegation training.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to maintain courteous relationships with clients.

If you don’t have experience, Sunrise Services will provide paid training toward your caregiver certification. You must be available to take classes on weekdays.

Base pay range: $20.50 – $23.76 / hour depending on experience, education, and certifications.

Time commitment: Full-time and part-time available.

Shifts: Mornings, overnights, and weekend shifts available; you must work at least one weekend shift.

Direct Care Supervisor

Supported Living

As a Direct Care Supervisor, you will support other staff members who work with clients with developmental disabilities, including clients who may have challenging issues or behaviors. Your goal is to promote clients’ dignity, respect, and quality of life while supervising staff and promoting an effective, compliant program.

You will also directly support clients in their homes on a weekly basis and when additional site coverage is needed. This role will require you to be on site with clients and staff for at least half of your work week.

We are looking for candidates who have the following:

  • Either a bachelor’s degree in a field related to developmental disabilities or a high school diploma/GED with 3+ years of experience working with clients with developmental disabilities.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • The ability to get NAR within 30 days of being hired and complete other training courses within 90 days of hire or advancement.
  • A valid Washington driver’s license with a clean one-year driving abstract, proof of insurance ($50,000), and the ability to drive in inclement weather.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including listening.
  • Organization and documentation skills.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Access, Teams, and Outlook, plus the ability to learn additional software.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 WPM.

We would ideally like to hire a candidate who has both experience working with clients with disabilities and experience in a supervisory role.

Base pay range: $23.66 – $25.00 / hour depending on experience, education, and certifications.

Time commitment: Full-time.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8 am – 4 pm.
